Muslim Cultural Training Workshop 2010

Registrations now closed. If you are interested in this workshop please email us on events@rmdt.org.nz and we will put you on our waiting list.

Based on heavy demand we are organizing the Cultural Training workshop again this year.

This workshop is dedicated to those involved in service provision to members of the Muslim community, or who otherwise would find a survey of Islam and its practices and beliefs useful in their work or contact with members of the Muslim community.

The workshop will be conducted by Afroz Ali from Sydney, Australia who has extensive experience in conducting similar workshops and seminars to service providers across Australia, and Steve James, from Auckland, who brings not only a wealth of skills and facilitating experience to this workshop, but also a local Kiwi approach.

The combination of these two highly successful trainers presents a unique opportunity to gain different insights into commonly misunderstood aspects of the Islamic faith and their impact on service provision contact between adherents and others.

The workshop will be conducted over two days: 2 & 3 August, starting at 9.00am and finishing at 4.00pm each day. Registration is at 8:30am on 2 August. Pre-registration online is required by 23 July.

Cost: $195 (excl. GST). Includes materials. All refreshments & lunch are provided on both days. Email us for any special dietary requirements and we will try to accommodate them.

For a group of 5 or more from the same organisation its $175.

Free parking is available for attendees at the St Columba Centre carpark.

Invoices are emailed to you or your organisations following registration (as required).
